Was woken up this morning by a first year girl, as Vimal (her insulated Singapore constitution is taking one onslaught after another in India) was having trouble breathing, she had a bad cold. Diligent and I ran, to find her sturggling for breath. I got my kettle and Diligent boiled water in it, for her to inhale the steam. In the meantime, I suddenly began to feel like the world was becoming darker, and that there were beads of cold sweat on my forehead.
Somehow got to the bathroom, getting increasingly pukish, but couldn't puke. Back in the room, doubled up in the worst version of abdominal cramps that I've ever had (I'm one of those that carry painkillers everywhere). Took a pill and promptly threw it up. In the meantime, my moaning and groaning had woken Scatterbrain up, who got me lemon from the mess, to keep the puking under control. Both my roomies ran all over the hostel trying to procure a hot-bag, which is the best remedy cramps. In the end, Deepti warmed water, put it in a plastic bottle, and that did the trick. Fell asleep after this.
Amidst all the drama, I called my mother (as I was convinced I would die by 9 a.m.) coaxing her to 'come immediately'. Feel like a complete wuss, now that I'm better. In five years, I don't seem to have become resilient to survive two hours of cramps on my own. My wild notions of roughing it out in the Big City, are suddenly taking a beating. I definitely need mommie around all the time, to survive.
Also feel like a wuss coz all this fuss in which I ran back home, made me miss the first day of the conference on 'Enculturing Law' and the first speaker today was Baxi himself!!
In other news, I have never studiedas much for a paper, as I have been studying for the first year Socio mid-term. I guess, the posible ignominy of looking like a twit in front of seventeen-year-olds is keeping me going....
